Good Grades

Today I received both Cody's and Jessica's intern report cards.  Both of them are attending MEI this year.  For those of you who know Cody and know how his grades were last year, let me tell you, his grades are no where near what they were last year.  He has totally out done himself and has the highest marks he's had in a very long time.   I am so glad that we had the opportunity to send them to MEI. I am so proud of the time and effort he has put into his work this year.  WAY TO GO!
Jessica  did online schooling for the past 2 years which she did not like very much and didn't do too well at due to the lack of having a teacher.  Jessica has totally out did herself as well in her classes, well all but one, But we won't get into that.  Let's just say she is looking forward to having a tutor help her.  I am so proud of the time and effort she has put into her work this year.  WAY TO GO!
It helps so much when they have friends and like the school they are attending.  I believe it makes all the difference in the world.
Both Mikaela and Tamara received their intern reports and again I am proud to say they too are doing well.  They are at the same school they were at last year.  WAY TO GO!

To all my kids KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

Running for the Cure

CIBC Run for the Cure
My daughter Jessica took part in the CIBC Run for the Cure.  She did this along with other classmates from her PE class.  Jessica's goal was to raise $500 dollars for this worthy cause, and on the day of the race which was just over a week ago she raised $475.  We are so proud of her!

Here is Jessica running towards the finish line.  She ran a  5 km run in 38 minutes.  Thank goodness the weather cooperated for the run.

Here is Jessica with Mikaela and Dad and Grandma.  Tamara was with me while I was taking the picture.  This was  Jessica's cheering squad.  After posing for this picture, we took her out for lunch to celebrate.

A True Blessing

Yesterday I received an email from my aunt.  I receive lots of emails from her as we keep in touch on a regular basis.  The email I received was about me getting together with my Grandma for an hour once a week.  The thing you have to understand here is that I have only met this Grandma once in my whole entire life and that was 4 years ago.
You must be wondering why, the answer to that question is simple.  You see  along time ago she had a  baby boy, a baby boy who she couldn't keep.  That baby  boy, was my dad.  17 years ago my dad got a call from a  lady by the name of Charlotte who he found out was his sister. They shared the same mom.  He also found out there were 2 more sisters from the same mom. My dad met his sister Charlotte and fell in love with a long lost sister he didn't know he had.  He didn't have much time with her as he passed away 2 years later.  I met Charlotte and her family and ever since that day Charlotte and her family have been a BIG part of my life.   After much prayers and a letter written to a lady I never knew, she (my Grandma) agreed to meet with me 4 years ago.  I have not seen her since that day as she was 92 and didn't want to start a new relationship with a long lost granddaughter, and I totally understood.  I was glad for the  opportunity I had to meet  her.
Well, that brings me to the True Blessing part of this story.  I have an opportunity to see my Grandma once a week on a weekly basis.  She is now 96 years old.  How awesome is that.   You see, God works in mysterious ways, a way for which I am grateful.

Jessica's 17th Birthday

Jessica celebrated her birthday by playing Lazer Tag with Michael, Holly and Patrick.  From there we went to  Red Robins and had a wonderful dinner.  We then returned home and waited for the rest of the guests to arrive.  After they all arrived  they were told who was on which team and were  given a sealed envelope.. We then headed out in two vehicles, one driven by me and the other driven by Danielle.  They had 2 hours to complete the Scavenger Hunt.  Danielle and her group got back to the house 15 minutes before my group, but my group accomplished most of the things on the list.  They then hung out and ate chips, ice cream cake and drank pop.  But before the cake was served, Jessica thought it would be a great idea to add a little bit of flavor to Holly.  This little bit of flavor adding ended up turning into an icing fight, which  was pretty humorous, or as Jessica would say, it was pretty EPIC!!!!!
